Rendering of Modern Caves at twilight: concrete overhang and a tilted slab framing a glowing living space beside the pool

Modern Caves

Modern Caves is a residence on a hillside in Crete, conceived as a contemporary cave. Tilted planes of board-marked concrete lean against one another and against dry-stone walls, forming a deep, sheltered interior that opens towards a pool and the horizon. The house reads less as a building than as part of the slope: a carved, shaded refuge within the landscape.
